~ The Simple Woman's Daybook ~

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... it is sunny and 90 degrees.

I am thankful... for summer vacation!!

In the kitchen... for supper we are having salmon patties, greens, and boiled pototatoes.

I am wearing... a white and grey t-shirt with jean shorts.

I am creating... I am embroidering a quilt square for my cousin. My mom, two cousins, and I are making embroidered quilt squares for a friendship quilt. We will exchange quilt squares with each other and, in the end, we will all have a quilt of our own. I am probably going to put mine in my hope chest.

I am going... to take a walk later if it's not too hot.

I am wondering... how my brother is doing. He is at a job interview.

I am reading... "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" -- it is one of my favorite books. I have read it about 4 times now.

I am looking forward to... our family reunion coming up next month.

I am learning... how to embroidery!

Around the house... my mom and I watched the movie, "Emma," starring Gwyneth Paltrow (I really like that movie!!) and working on our squares.

A favorite quote for today... I abide in Jesus and His words abide in me, for without Him I can do nothing. JOHN 15:5

One of my favorite things... reading a good book.

A few plans for the rest of the week: embroidering our squares, going to the doctor with my mom on Thursday morning, and getting groceries on Thursday evening.

A peek into my day...
My first embroidery. I made this for my mom's quilt.
